I know not where would have been had I not wandered off the routine course of life. I have explored lands, languages, cultures and people ever since I began to read. I wished to be one of Enid Blyton's Famous Five, or may be a annoying cousin of Bertie Wooster only to be in the land described in the books. I walked with Michaelangelo through his times and then wandered like a lost soul with Van Gogh. Then it was a journey with Steinbeck, Hemingway, Emile Zola, Mark Twain, Maxim Gorky, Leo Tolstoy, Amitav Ghosh and many others. What followed later was magical landscape of Julio Cortazar, Gabriel Garcia Marquez and Eduardo Galeano. Without these wanderings I would have been locked in a boring zone. Each author, each book shook me out of my comfort zone into another. The world was never a dull place. If it did become dull, all I needed to do was pick up a book to begin my mind travel..
